How Much Is My Face Worth?
Tuesday, 25 September 2018
I was recently thinking about how much money i've spent on makeup since I bought my first mascara in 2007... the thought scares me! But it got me thinking about how much my current everyday makeup routine is worth. So here goes...
Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer - £6.99
I quite often skip primer, i've not found one that I think makes a huge difference as of yet, but if I am wearing it, it'll most likely be this.
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation - £33
I've banged on about this foundation for so long, everyone knows it is my fave. And it's a pricey one...
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer - £4.19
Another one I talk about all the time. But this time, it's so much cheaper. Phew!
Rimmel Stay Matte Powder - £3.19
Another oldie but a
goodie. I know I can never go wrong with this powder.
That's the base done and i'm pleasantly surprised at the total so far= £47.37. Let's carry on...
Benefit Hoola Bronzer - £25.50
Everyone loves Hoola, right?
Nars Blush- Orgasm - £24
Another cult classic.
Sleek Highlighting Palette - Solstice - £9.99
I love to mix a few of the shades in here to really get that glooow.
Revolution Flawless Matte 2 Palette - £8
A new favourite of mine >> review here << that i'm currently using for both my eyebrows and my eyeshadow. What a bargain!
Pixi Brow Tamer - £12
My eyebrows have a mind of their own if I don't set them
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara - £8.99
I've always preferred 'drugstore' mascaras to high end.
Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick - Perla - £16
I love, love, love this liquid lipstick! >> review here <<

There we have it. Everything i'm currently loving using on my face. And the grand total is... £151.85. Is it bad to say i'm pleasantly surprised at that? This was so fun to do! I might do another in a few months when i've changed what i'm using.

The Nars Collection

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
This is my fave Nars product and my fave foundation. It's not sheer and it's not that glowy (despite the name) but it gives a beautiful skin-like finish to the skin, whilst still giving medium to full, and definitely buildable, coverage! The shade Mont Blanc is also the best match to my natural, untanned skin that i've found. A must try if you haven't already.
Nars Bronzer- Laguna
What a classic! I remember back in the old YouTube and Blogging days this was talked about so much. Pretty much everyone had it. I dreamt of trying it for years but I couldn't justify spending that much on a bronzer when I was a teenager- it still makes me squirm, hence the reason i'm running desperately low on it! With just a hint of shimmer, it gives a lovely tanned finish without being too orange or too brown. I also love to use it as an eyeshadow (shown in my first makeup YT vid aahh!) for an easy, everyday look.
Nars Blusher- Orgasm
Another absolute classic here! Easy to wear everyday and the rose gold-ish reflection means it gives a glowy, rosy flush to the cheeks. It's very pigmented, so a little definitely goes a long way.
Nars Highlighting Blush Powder- Albatross
I don't know why this is called a blush powder, because it's definitely not. I recently wrote a blog post about this >> The Summer Highlighter << so check it out if you want a more detailed post. As the post name suggests, I particularly love this for the summer, since despite looking white in the pan, it has a serious gold undertone to it, making it look amazing with a tan.
Nars Blush- Nico
This is another one that isn't really a blusher. I've also done a blog post on this >> Nars Nico << as part of my Hidden Gem series in 2016. I don't use it as a blusher, but instead as a multi-use powder; to fix, set and lightly highlight. Being a light beige with a hint of shimmer, it can set the under eyes, soften a heavy hand with blusher or bronzer or as a very subtle highlight. I class it not a must-buy but a maybe for Nars or makeup lovers.
Nars Illuminator- Copacabana
Another one i've wrote a longer blog post on >> The Liquid Highlighters <<. This actually comes close as my fave highlighter. I absolutely love the glowy finish it gives and how being liquid, it's so versatile. A little side note: I find that Copacabana blends the best and looks the best when i'm wearing the Sheer Glow foundation.
Nars Audacious Lipstick- Anita
The only product that's not for the face in my collection. A classic rose shade- it is perfect for everyday. It's pigmented, so you only need a couple of swipes and creamy, but doesn't slide off.
So that's my Nars collection. I can't wait to add to this, perhaps an eyeshadow palette or blusher shades.
Are you a Nars fan?

The Number 4 Jour d'automne Smoothing Balm Review
Monday, 10 September 2018
I mentioned in my June Birchbox unboxing that if any products caught my eye, you may see a post sometime in the near future... I wasn't expecting it to be about this.
On first impressions and packaging, it's not something that particularly draws you in. But, it's the one product from the box i'm regularly slipping into my beauty routine, so it must be doing something right. My hair care routine generally includes shampoo, conditioner and heat protection. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to my hair. I just want it washed, dried and styled as quick as poss, so I rarely use masks and fancy products. It's something I know I need to do though, since I always lust after girls with super shiny, glossy hair... and then wonder why my hair isn't like that! Anyone else?
Anyway from reading up on it, it claims to tame and smooth frizzy, unruly hair. Since i've got super thick hair (thanks to my mum for making me have it cut loads when I was young), this is just what I want/need!
I tried it out and was fairly impressed with how my hair looked. However, I didn't notice the full difference it made until I didn't use it the next time I washed my hair. So much more frizz, so many more flyaways and a lot less shiny. I also love that it doesn't make my hair feel like it's got product in or make it look greasy, which so many similar hair care products do. It claims to protect against heat damage, which is so hard to test, so I still use my normal heat protectant too, just in case.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible 24 Hour Matte Foundation: http://tidd.ly/e3c7674f
I love trying new foundations and i've wanted to try this for a while. I used to always go for illuminating foundations cos i looove the finish they give but they just dont last on my skin. So i mainly now go for matte, and just add in the glow with other products.
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish- Soft and Gentle: http://tidd.ly/db8f8a
I'm a sucker for a new highlighter- as most people seem to be nowadays! This one has a sort of cult following so i'm eager to give it a whizz.
Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick Creme- Coffee Run: http://tidd.ly/b5431bc9
Autumn to me means dark lipstick and this looks IDEAL! A girl can never have too many lipsticks, right?
Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Palette: http://tidd.ly/f1857123
I've been longing for a Too Faced eyeshadow palette for so long now. The one thing stopping me is that i've got so many wonderful eyeshadow palettes i've found it hard to justify getting another one. I'm going to have to treat myself soon...

My Travel Photo Diary | Budapest
Monday, 3 September 2018
I did a post all about my guide to Budapest in May after our few days away there- if you haven't been, GO! That included a few photos, but I found some unedited, more natural shots that I thought would be cute to share on here. They may not insta or blog quality, but they make me smile. Plus, it's always nice to look back on these posts in a few years time...
Our fave ruin bar...
And again...
I ain't the mushy type but the boy looks hella handsome here.
Just a lil windswept...
Just the best photo background...
Sorbets with a view
No idea what is going on my with my arms...
Strut your stuff!
Oh look, back in the ruin bar again and posing in an old bath??
This just makes me wanna go on holiday now! Major wanderlust, anyone else?
Hello September!
Saturday, 1 September 2018
Hello September! Goodbye August!
I'm so ready to see the back of august, it's been a pretty tough month and September hopefully brings the start of better things. September also means the boyfs birthday, our anniversary, my birthday and autumn! Yay! For the past couple of weeks since the heat wave left us, the weather cooled and we started getting a lot more dull and dreary days, i've been getting SO excited for autumn. I can't wait to be wearing jumpers, coats, drinking hot chocolates, getting cosy, not forgetting Halloween and Bonfire Night! On makeup terms, i'm excited to bring out the berrys and plums again (AKA- Best of Berry). MAC Rebel, i'm looking at you here! On personal terms, i'm feeling so motivated and there's so many things I want to do this month. It's time to get started!
