The Night Out Face
Friday, 27 September 2013
On nights out recently, i've been stripping the eyes back, having bronzed and glowy skin and rocking the red lip. Its safe to say i've been loving it. So here's a post sharing the products ive been using to achieve this.
Now I don't know if its just me, but i like to spend a good couple of hours slowly getting ready for a night out and that means there's a lot of layering and a lot of products, so get ready.
Benefit that gal brightening face primer
First step to help get a glow and make the makeup stay all night.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum- 52
As this is pretty light, i build up the coverage until its how i want it to be, whilst still being glowy in all the right places. Applied with the brilliant Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer- light 2
Perfect for covering spots, imperfections and under eye circles.
Shavata brow pencil- blonde
I now like to fill in my brows using the blonde end of the pencil.
Urban Decay Primer Potion- Greed
To keep my eyeshadow in place i like to use this primer which has a slight shimmer in it.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow- Virgin + Wet n Wild Eyeshadow
With this makeup look i like to keep the eyes pretty simple, and in keeping with how the skins going to look. Ive been putting Virgin from the Dangerous Palette all over the lid with a Mac 217 and then this shimmery bronzey/gold shade blended in the outer half and crease of my eye. I also like to put virgin in the tear duct to brighten the eyes.

Maybelline Great Lash Blackest Black Mascara
Nothing more on the eyes apart from a good coating or 2 of mascara after curling my eyelashes with the Shu Umera Eyelash Curlers.
Benefit Erase Paste- No.1 Fair
I use this to clear up any fall out and add extra coverage to my awfully blue under eyes.
Daniel Sandler Watercolour Creme Bronzer- Riviera
Now here comes the layering and I put this cream bronzer on my cheekbones and temples with the Real Techniques Contour Brush.
Benefit Highbeam
I then used my finger to blend in this highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones, down the nose and on the cupids bow.
Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder- 001 transparent
Now to powder to get rid of unwanted shine and just help everything last that little bit longer, focusing mainly on the t-zone.
Sleek Face Contour Kit- Light
I love a good contour and in the evening you can go heavier on it, so i worked it in the hollows of my cheekbones, through the temples, along the jaw line and a little down the sides of my nose. I then also used the highlight shade to intensify what id already done, only just on the tops of my cheekbone. This was all done with the contour brush again.
Nars Laguna Bronzer
Now for one of my favourite products, the cult classic. I used the Real Techniques Blush Brush to dust it all over my face for a lovely bronzed glow.
No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick- Dare Devil
And the last product, possibly the most important, the red lip. I used this one which is a true red, and exactly what you think of when someone says red lip.
Wow, that now seems like a lot of products but i love the look it creates and it is perfect with a LBD!

Asos Wishlist #1
Saturday, 21 September 2013
Like i mentioned in my Collective Haul post, i completely love Asos. I spend hours searching through the clothes, shoes, accessories and beauty items and feeling like i'm 'saving' almost every thing i see. Obsessed? I think so.
These items are just a few from my 'wanted' list. I couldn't decide which colour i liked best for the beanies, so thought why not buy both?! I think the take a chance vest will look great with a blazer, baggy jumpers are a must as the temperature drops and there are sales on some Nars products, cant let that one slip! Time to get spending my birthday money!

Headline Colors Nail Polish

I feel like im writing so many nail polish related posts recently but having constantly painted nails is my current obession. A new nail polish ive been trying out is Headline Colors in Gunmetal after getting it in a glossybox and on first impressions, it feels like its going to be a hit. Now if you know me, black nails in the autumn and winter is an essential and i find myself always reaching for that dark bottle and a glossy topcoat to give a sort of sexy and mysterious look. Some people would never wear black nails but done right, i love the way it looks. This nail polish offers something slightly different from the full on black. It has touches of grey in it and also a small amount of sparkle to give a bit of light and dimension in a normally very 'flat' colour. The polish itself applies really well too and with two coats, there is really good intensity. It also lasts a reasonable amount of time, not the best but by far not the worst. For some reason, the simplicity of the bottle and packaging is something that i love as well.
So on first look, ive been really impressed with this Headline Colors nail polish and after looking on their website, im immediately drawn to so many of their other colours. £9 is not bad for a good nail varnish, although from already stacking up a fair list of colours i want from there, my pocket will be feeling a hell of a lot lighter soon!
Collective Haul
Sunday, 8 September 2013
Just a little post on my most recent clothing purchases, but with a little beauty items chucked in for good measure. Lets get cracking!
Ive paired all the tops with my shiny leggings from Missguided but obviously they can be styled however you want them. I just literally live in these sort of leggings/disco pants.
River Island
First of all from River Island, i got this basic baggy black t-shirt which has a gold necklacey thing attached to it which adds a pop of colour and dresses it up a little. The material (viscose and rayon) also dresses it up and i think it will look perfect with some floral print peg trousers ive been eyeing up from Asos. Worn with a pair of heels and gold jewellery it will take you from day to night.

New Look
I love my baggy jumpers and when i saw this i had to get it. Its knitted and has a mixture of cream, light brown and salmon pink (ish) stitches. It just screams autumn with the mix of colours and will also look good with shirt collars peaking out over the top.
Asos
My favourite shop/ website. I literally stalk it daily and have a uncontrollable list of 'saved' items. My latest order contains two new tops; a very neon yellow/lime baseball style top, something that i wouldn't normally go for as it is so bright and i usually stick to monochrome and a super soft black jumper with a white skull pattern on it.

Dorothy Perkins
Not somewhere i shop often but i spotted this playsuit that i love. The top half is checkered black and light creamish/white which is a light, silk like material with a black collar and the shorts are black and a much thicker material. Although this initially looks like a more going out outfit (which i will wear out with heals and red lipstick) i also think it will go great in the winter with thick tights, boots and a chunky cardigan.

Boots
A new Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in light 2, stocking up on my fave!
Primark
I picked up some more PJ's from Primark, and the colours of these make them great for autumn (fall). The shorts are checkered, with the main colour being burgundy, with pink, yellow, cream all mixed in there. The top is a vest which is the same burgundy colour and together these look really cute.

Avon
I saw in the brochure that Avon now do nail wraps and they were selling them initially for a discounted price and so i thought id test them as all you do is stick them on. I got them in the design 'check you out' and if i like them i may do a blogpost, so keep an eye out. I also got another lipstick, i think its one of their ultra colour lipsticks in the shade rouge luxury; a bright red with a hint of pink in it.
Empties #3

September is here. How on earth? This year has literally flown by and i cant believe it can be September already. The new month sees the days getting shorter and the weather getting colder but it is also an exciting time for me as i will be 18 in a couple of weeks!
As we head into September i thought id share the next batch of products I've used up over the last few months.
Tresemme Salon Finish Hairspray
For some reason, i find it hard to compare hairsprays and i don't have any favourites. This did do a good job but left my hair slightly crispy at times, which is a no go for me.
Tresemme Heat Defence Styling Spray
Like i mentioned in my beachy waves/curls post, this is my favourite heat defence. It's just the one i always lean for and although its hard to tell, it feels like its protecting my hair.
Skinetica Anti Blemish
I got this in a glossybox and as it's such a small tube i never fully cooperated it within my skincare routine, maybe only once a week, when i remembered and when i had a pesky spot. I therefore don't think i got to see the full effects of it used daily and so i might purchase the full sized bottle, just to see it properly in action and I'm always looking for spot and blackhead clearing miracles.
So Kiss Me Body Fragrance
I'm ashamed at how long I've had this. I got it in a gift set probably 3 or 4 years ago?! Oops. I used it quite a lot when i first got it, but as the amount left grew smaller and smaller i stopped using it, just because i liked the smell so much and didn't want to waste it. Its only recently where I've got round to using it again and it does smell really nice but i think its more for the younger teen.
Dermalogica Clean Start All Over Clear Purifying Toner
I also got this in a glossybox and it is a toner which you sprist over your face which claims to control shine and stop breakouts. I'm not sure how well this worked yet i loved the novelty of a spray and i kept it up in my routine as in the summer i get more oily on my t-zone. If it didn't do anything else, it did refresh my skin when i was on holiday and when it was hot.
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Another tube of this done and dusted. Its my favourite concealer for spots and blemishes and lasts well too.
Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser
And last, but by no means least the famous Liz Earle Cleanser. I've polished off another bottle of this and I've spoken about it enough to go into detail but, i literally love it. The Emma Hardie cleansing balm has been getting a whole lot o' love recently and I've been tempted to try it, especially with feelunique having a discount on it. Ive realised how much i like this these past couple of days as i haven't had chance to buy a new bottle yet, and I've just felt lost without it in my skincare routine.
