The NYX Cosmic Metals Swatches & Review

For Christmas, I received the NYX matte vs metals lip vault. When putting it on my Christmas list, I already knew I liked the liquid suede lipsticks but I was so interested in finding out whether I liked the cosmetic metal shades. I'd never tried metallic lips before! There are six metallic shades in the vault, ranging from a gold to a dark, holographic brown...

They apply really easily, which I was somewhat surprised at, gliding on smoothly and evenly. Some of the shades, such as Crystailized Metal, look and feel like glossy lips rather than metallic, which i'm not opposed to. They're definitely not drying, even after applying and then removing all six shades, my lips still felt soft and nourished. I think they look amazing with very simple makeup; matte skin, a lil bit of bronzer, and nothing on the eyes except for lashings of mascara.

Overall, I wouldn't wear these metallic shades on an everyday basis, but for a night out, a party, or if you're feeling particularly daring I definitely would give them a go. It's nice to mix it up and ditch a matte lip every now and then.

Like a lot of people, liquid lipsticks have taken over my lip choices. I've always been a massive lover of matte lipsticks, I generally think they suit me better and therefore when liquid lipsticks became more of a *thing*, it was a trend i could jump on.

I've tried out and loved a fair few liquid lipsticks, but one is my ultimate fave! It's pretty much the only thing i've been wearing on my lips since Christmas. The liquid lipstick in question? Stila's Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in the shade Perla. This is actually a mini (a decent sized mini), that i got in the M&S beauty advent calendar.

The colour is hard to describe, somewhere between a pink, a mauve and a nude, making it perfect for everyday and for just about any makeup look. It compliments my skin tone when i'm both pale and when i've fake tanned, and is generally just my go-to. Regarding the formula it glides on, drys matte yet still makes my lips feel soft and smooth. It lasts all day *even when eating and drinking* and I also really like the smell, it reminds me of ice-cream.
