A Small Beauty Haul
I recently took a trip to Boots to pick up a few essentials. It's only a small haul, but it's got a lil bit of everything... makeup, skincare, body. Hope you enjoy seeing what I picked up!
Sukin Oil Balancing Mattifying Facial Moisturiser
I'm one of those annoying people who uses a product until its nearly done, then moves on to something new, rarely properly finishing a product. This is no different with moisturises, i've been switching back and forth, trying to find something to clear up my spots. So, I've recently been on a mission to use up my collection of moisturises to the last drop before I could purchase something new. A sort of de-cluttering. I did that, then was in search of something new. I did a lil research and had a few products in mind, but when I was browsing the skincare section I came across Sukin. I'd not heard much about Sukin but the packaging, the properties in it and the pretty good price, led me to biting the bullet and trying this. I've used it for a few days now, and it could just be coincidence, but my spots and scars are beginning to fade. We could be on to a winner! I'll do a full review in a few weeks once i've properly put it to the test.
Soap and Glory Clean on Me
In the same sense to the moisturises, I was running pretty low on Clean on Me, my fave shower gel of all time! I decided I was going to declutter, and use up all my other shower gels before repurchasing this. If you've not tried Clean on Me, you must! It leaves my skin feeling so soft, like i've but body cream on. It's my must use before fake tanning as I know i'm not going to have patchy tan or dry patches.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Lash Multiplying Mascara
Another repurchase of an old fave. I was going to try a new drugstore mascara but didn't want to buy something that was a total flop, so stuck with what I know and love.
Maybelline Instant Anti Age Erase Concealer- 00 Ivory
When this concealer was all the rage a few years ago I bought it in what was then the lightest shade in the UK- it was not light at all. I never really got the hype, but that was probably due to it being too dark for me. I'm excited to properly put it to work now.
Wilkinson Sword Intuiton Fab Razor
An exciting purchase I know... I needed a new razor and saw this, which I think is new. It's meant to be much better for your skin when shaving back and forth so I thought why not give it a go. It was half price too, you can't go wrong!

The July Birchbox
Not long after my June Birchbox post went live, my July Birchbox arrived and I could get excited over another box of beauty filled treats. So what's in the July Birchbox?
Balance Me Congested Skin Serum
I was very excited to see this in this months box. I don't know if its due to the hotter weather but my skin has not been behaving recently. So anything that claims to fight against spots i'm 100% down for trying. I've used it twice since getting it and i've not really noticed a difference yet, but i'll give it plenty of time. RRP= £16
Manna Kadar Long-Wear Powder in Paradise
This is supposedly multi-purpose, and can be used on the cheeks or the eyes. I'll most likely stick to the cheeks. Still... it looks a beautiful red toned powder with a gold shimmer. It reminds me of Nars Orgasm Blusher. RRP= £15
Eyeko Fat Eye Stick in Satin
Although I always think i'm going to love Eyeko products, i've tried a liquid eyeliner and one of their mascaras and wasn't overly impressed. I'm still excited to try this as so many people love Eyeko. Swatched... it looks like I could finally be on to a winner. RRP= £12
What's in it for me? Shower Scrub
At first glance, I thought this was This Works, the packaging is pretty similar. I wasn't overly excited to see this sitting in my birchbox but I am running pretty low on my usual Soap & Glory scrub, so it looks like it's going to come in handy after all.
Beauty Pro Eye Therapy Under Eye Mask
I've never tried these under eye masks but I see people using them everywhere! I always think they seem expensive for something that's single use, and does it even make much difference. I always save products like this for a special occasion but when a special occasion rolls around I still don't use them?? It's my graduation in a few days, maybe i'll try them then.... RRP= £4.95

The Skin Saviour
I was having a pretty horrid time with my skin for what felt like a couple of years. Nothing had been working to clear the constant array of spots that were developing on and around my chin (my chin has always been my issue area), and although you're told your skin will clear once your teenage years are behind you, my skin was doing the opposite. It was infuriating and confidence bashing!
I normally spend ages researching and reading reviews on products before I buy them, but after reading a few rave reviews, I bought the Pixi Glow Tonic from ASOS (no surprises there), slightly on a whim. I wasn't expecting miracles but I was wrong. After only a couple of days, my spots were clearing and my scars fading! Scaring is one of the worst aspects of having spots for me! I didn't want to get my hopes up too much though, as the time of the month was approaching and this plays havoc on my skin. However to my surprise, nothing! This has continued until now, barely having a spot in 4 months. If I have had a spot, its been small and has cleared up within a couple of days instead of the huge underneath the skin spots that I used to get, that would seemingly last for weeks.
It has been so nice not wearing as much foundation and concealer, or worrying about my makeup wearing off and revealing spots. I generally use this once a day, at night, however if i do feel a spot developing I sometimes apply both morning and night.
I just hope this product continues to work its magic on my skin as it really has been my skin saviour up to now! The 250ml bottle costs £18.

Skincare Routine and 2015 Favourites!
First up I use the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, which I must have used for the past 5/6 years showing how good a product it is. It gently removes all traces of makeup and dirt and leaves my skin looking and feeling smooth and i genuinely can't imagine using anything else.
Once I've cleansed, I use the Liz Earle Instant Boost Skin Tonic on a cotton wool pad all over the skin. It removes any traces of dirt or makeup that the cleanser may have missed and refreshes my skin. I used this with my first bottle of cleanse and polish however once it ran out I didn't repurchase and used alternatives. Fast forward 4 or 5 years later and my skin was looking really dull, lifeless and generally not good. I think this was from using harsh products that were meant to get rid of spots and blemishes. I decided to give the tonic another whirl and I am so glad I did. It made such a difference in only a couple of uses; brightening, calming and evening out my skin and it has been a saviour.
On an average morning or night, I finish with the Simple Kind to Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser which has definitely aided with the Skin Tonic to clear my skin. I generally had quite good skin, getting the odd few spots (mainly on my chin!) every couple of weeks however I went through a stage when my skin was the worst it's ever been. I found myself getting quite a few, big, ugly spots (still mainly on my chin) constantly, becoming quite self conscious about it and nothing would make them any better. I would use products that were designed for targeting spots and blemishes however nothing would change. I then started to use this moisturiser and they gradually started to disappear and my skin was getting better and better. I don't know whether it was something in the harsh 'spot prone skin' type moisturisers that reacted with my skin or Simples' products having no artificial ingredients and chemicals but it has worked wonders and it is only £3.99, what a bargain! I obviously do still get spots every so often but my skin is so much clearer and smoother.
Normally whens it's that time of the month, is when I break out, so when I do or when I'm feeling a lil' groggy i'll use a face mask, either (another Liz Earle product) the Liz Earle Deep Cleansing Mask or the Neutrogena Visibly Clear 2-in-1 Wash & Mask. Both really good, one on the cheaper side and one more expensive.
If my skin is behaving badly I also sometimes use the Teoxane Perfect Skin Refiner at night and only on a weekly or twice weekly basis as it is a harsh product however it does work well.
I throw in some other products every so often but the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, Instant Boost Skin Tonic and the Simple Moisturiser make up my every day skincare routine. Quick, easy and simple!

July Glossybox- Vive La France
To start off with the box is beautifully illustrated, making it a perfect addition to a dressing table. It has that whole shabby chic vibe which goes along with the French/ Parisian style. As always there's a card detailing the products featured and their full size price but also a card about the artist of the the Vive La France Glossybox, Jamie Lee Reardin, which is a nice touch.

Noxidoxi Enhancing Serum Base
This supposedly provides hydration, tightens pores and is a antioxidant shield which i like the sound of. This also seems a good product to layer under makeup to make it go on smoothly and create a flawless finish.
Lollipops Lip Balm Delicieuse
You can never have enough lip balms in my opinion. This one smells (and tastes!) really nice which is always a bonus to me as i generally dislike unscented lip balms. It's creamy and has ingredients to protect against UV damage, burnt dry lips are not the one!
Teoxane Cosmeceuticals Perfect Skin Refiner
I was excited to try this when i read about it and saw that the full size is a whopping £70. The concept of it being a skin renewal cream excites me and i always like it when you can feel a product working as this has has mild tingling feeling at first.
Yves Rocher Comme Une Evidence Eau De Parfum
I always like receiving perfume samples as they're perfect for chucking in handbags for a freshen up throughout the day. They also mean you can test them out before deciding on whether to purchase the full size. This is a musky floral scent.
Glossybox Exclusive Travel Pouch
Finally comes a little pouch with a similar design to the box. It is made of that thicker plastic material however this does mean that it's easy to clean if you keep makeup and toiletries in.
Overall I do like this box, however is it bad for me to admit that the thing i'm most excited about it is the actual box. I just can't wait to have it on show in my room as i just love the design!
