Top 3 Winter Lipsticks

Saturday, 30 November 2013
First of all, i am sorry for not posting in what seems like forever. I have been super busy (and stressed) with sixth form and personal statement shenanigans and when i have had the time to sit down and write a post, writers block has come over me. This may be down to putting myself on a makeup and clothes shopping ban, which trust me, has been hard!
But today, i am here, bringing you my top 3 winter lipsticks that are bold and beautiful.

1) The first, my ultimate favourite and most used lipstick, step up Rimmel London Lasting Finish By Kate Moss Lipstick- 107. I seem to find myself reaching for this all the time, i sometimes even have to tell myself to put it down and wear something different for a change. I don't think there's many people that haven't heard of it, its a perfect darker red that can be worn day and night and would suit all skin colours.

2) The next of my favourite winter lipsticks is Mac Rebel which is a satin finish and to me just oozes winter and Christmas. It's a purple with fuchsia running through it that can be worn bold with just one swipe, or sheered out with your finger for more of a deep pink.

3) Yves Rocher Moisturising Cream Lipstick - 106 Mauve is the last on my top 3 picks. In the tube, it looks a dull, uninteresting and unflattering shade but on the lips it gives a slightly 'vampy' look that's for perfect for the colder months. Its a sort of brown mauve, with plum running through it which feels really creamy on the lips, to help keep chapped lips firmly away.

Left to right: Yves Rocher, Mac, Rimmel
The camera is making all the swatches look more pink than they actually are, sorry!

Bourjois Bronzing Primer

Monday, 28 October 2013

I wouldnt say this is a review, more of a general natter about a product that ive been reaching for everyday. Im quite late on the scene (as always) but i'd fancied getting my hands on it since the release and when there was a 30% sale on Borjouis on Asos, i couldnt resist. (My Asos addiction has got seriously out of hand- i need help!)
I dont know what it is about it, but i havent been able to do my makeup without using this. The way ive been applying it is after foundation but before powder and just to slightly contour/bronze before my beloved Nars Laguna. I love the super soft texture, making it easily blendable and i literally only have to dab my brush in (Real Techniques Contour Brush has been my brush of choice) to get enough of the product. I have a feeling it is going to last me a while.
Another thing i love about it is the smell. Yes, weird i know. For some reason that slight sunscreeny smell just draws me in and even now as im writing this post i keep on grabbing it, smelling it, then repeating continuosly.
At £9.99 it is a great alternative to the Chanel Tan De Soleil and if you manage to pick it up on offer like i did, its even more of a bargain!

Avon Haul

Sunday, 6 October 2013

When i saw the Mega Effects Mascara in the latest Avon magazine, i just had to get it. The packaging and concept really interested me and i was/am baffled to see how it works. As it was the new launch of the product, upon buying it for £10 you also got an eye makeup remover, eyeshadow primer, concealer and double sided brush free. I'm not expecting great things from these products, but for all of this for a tenner, you cant wrong and i am looking forward to trying them out. You never know, i may be surprised!

The Night Out Face

Friday, 27 September 2013
On nights out recently, i've been stripping the eyes back, having bronzed and glowy skin and rocking the red lip. Its safe to say i've been loving it. So here's a post sharing the products ive been using to achieve this.
Now I don't know if its just me, but i like to spend a good couple of hours slowly getting ready for a night out and that means there's a lot of layering and a lot of products, so get ready.

Benefit that gal brightening face primer
First step to help get a glow and make the makeup stay all night.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum- 52
As this is pretty light, i build up the coverage until its how i want it to be, whilst still being glowy in all the right places. Applied with the brilliant Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer- light 2
Perfect for covering spots, imperfections and under eye circles.

Shavata brow pencil- blonde
I now like to fill in my brows using the blonde end of the pencil.

Urban Decay Primer Potion- Greed
To keep my eyeshadow in place i like to use this primer which has a slight shimmer in it.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow- Virgin + Wet n Wild Eyeshadow
With this makeup look i like to keep the eyes pretty simple, and in keeping with how the skins going to look. Ive been putting Virgin from the Dangerous Palette all over the lid with a Mac 217 and then this shimmery bronzey/gold shade blended in the outer half and crease of my eye. I also like to put virgin in the tear duct to brighten the eyes.

Maybelline Great Lash Blackest Black Mascara
Nothing more on the eyes apart from a good coating or 2 of mascara after curling my eyelashes with the Shu Umera Eyelash Curlers.

Benefit Erase Paste- No.1 Fair
I use this to clear up any fall out and add extra coverage to my awfully blue under eyes.

Daniel Sandler Watercolour Creme Bronzer- Riviera
Now here comes the layering and I put this cream bronzer on my cheekbones and temples with the Real Techniques Contour Brush.

Benefit Highbeam
I then used my finger to blend in this highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones, down the nose and on the cupids bow.

Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder- 001 transparent
Now to powder to get rid of unwanted shine and just help everything last that little bit longer, focusing mainly on the t-zone.

Sleek Face Contour Kit- Light
I love a good contour and in the evening you can go heavier on it, so i worked it in the hollows of my cheekbones, through the temples, along the jaw line and a little down the sides of my nose. I then also used the highlight shade to intensify what id already done, only just on the tops of my cheekbone. This was all done with the contour brush again.

Nars Laguna Bronzer
Now for one of my favourite products, the cult classic. I used the Real Techniques Blush Brush to dust it all over my face for a lovely bronzed glow.

No7 Moisture Drench Lipstick- Dare Devil
And the last product, possibly the most important, the red lip. I used this one which is a true red, and exactly what you think of when someone says red lip.

Wow, that now seems like a lot of products but i love the look it creates and it is perfect with a LBD!

Asos Wishlist #1

Saturday, 21 September 2013
Like i mentioned in my Collective Haul post, i completely love Asos. I spend hours searching through the clothes, shoes, accessories and beauty items and feeling like i'm 'saving' almost every thing i see. Obsessed? I think so.

These items are just a few from my 'wanted' list. I couldn't decide which colour i liked best for the beanies, so thought why not buy both?! I think the take a chance vest will look great with a blazer, baggy jumpers are a must as the temperature drops and there are sales on some Nars products, cant let that one slip! Time to get spending my birthday money!
