Avon Extra Lasting Mascara and Liquid Eyeliner Pen- Disappointing Products
Sunday, 24 February 2013
This is my first negative blog post and although i don't want to bring the gloom and doom, i really dislike these two products and was extremely disappointed with them. The two products are part of the extra lasting range from avon; the mascara and liquid eyeliner pen. I decided to buy the extra lasting products due to having quite oily eyelids and eye makeup often doesn't last too well.
The mascara applies reasonably well and lengthens the lashes however after only an hour or so my lashes start to clump together so they're not seperated at all and by the end of the day all my lashes are clumped together into around 3 clumps. (overuse of the word clump!) This really is not what you want your eyelashes to look like. It is also extremely difficult to remove and i would often find that in trying to remove it, several lashes would come out. I kept on reusing the mascara, hoping that it would have just been a one off occurrance but it kept on happening no matter what the weather.
With the eyeliner, it applies a light grey line thats barely noticable rather than the black that its supposed to be. It's also very watery which means it slips and slides after barely anytime and isn't 'extra lasting' at all. Sometimes i think that maybe i have a broken one as surely an eyeliner can't be that bad.
I am normally reasonably pleased with avon products but both these products are very disappointing and i wouldn't recommend anyone buying them.

Leighton Denny Nail Polish
Sunday, 17 February 2013
The Leighton Denny nail polishes cost £11, which may seem a bit steep for some people but i think that this is not bad for a good quality varnish. I'm not sure how easy it is to get hold of the Leighton Denny collection but they are sold on numerous websites and also in Marks and Spencers.
A few links to buy Leighton Denny online:

That Fragrance Feeling
Friday, 15 February 2013
It's fair to say I'm pretty boring when it comes to perfumes. I've repurchased the same one 3 times and practically used that and only that for the past 2 years. 'That' fragrance being Lacoste A Touch Of Pink. I suppose i had got into a rut with my fragrances and i knew it was one that i could always rely on. Whenever i was looking for a new perfume i would spend ages deciding which one to buy, which wouldn't stretch my budget too much and just end up not being able to decide and going for same old Lacoste. Saying all of that i did really love it, i just think that wearing the same perfume practically everyday made me lose by love for it.
But at Christmas, i said enough's enough! and when asked what perfume i wanted i said i didn't know which, just not Lacoste. So, the job was up to my lovely grandma to pick a perfume for me (who is always great at choosing presents) and by jove did she do a good job! That perfume is Lancome Tresor Midnight Rose.
First of all it comes it comes in quite a simple yet sleek bottle with a magnetic lid and a gorgeous purple flower around the neck that gives it that sexy feel. Now on to the scent, which I've worn almost every day since Christmas and i have received so many compliments of the classic 'ooh you smell nice'. Now I'm rubbish at describing smells so Lancome describe it as a 'captivating scent that blends intense rose and bold blackcurrant notes with vivacious jasmine, peony and pink pepper'. I'd say it's quite a sophisticated perfume that's perfect for a night out or a date as it's got a mysterious feel to it.
To make sure i don't get into the same perfume rut as before I'm definitely going to be buying more perfumes and hopefully finding some more gems than i can excite over!

The Urban Decay Feminine Palette
Sunday, 10 February 2013
It is fair to say i have fallen in love with this palette, everything about it is beautiful! To start off with it comes in a gorgeous case which screams sexy and girly, this alone makes me want to carry it around with me everywhere i go. The actual box with the eye shadows in comes away from the magnetic pouch which also has a reasonably sized mirror. This means that this is perfect for carrying in your handbag with or without your eye shadows as you could store something else in there. Although there is a warning to not store credit cards in it as the magnet in the pouch could demagnetise your cards.
On to the actual eye shadows which there are 6 of and also a cute little lip gloss in Wall-flower. Urban Decay eye shadows are so soft and pigmented which helps them to blend easily, and the eye shadows in this palette are no different. There are no mattes, only shimmery shadows in the feminine palette too.
The six shadows are:
- Bordello
- Skimp
- AC/DC
- Gunmetal
- Hijack
- Lost

My current favourites in this palette are Bordello and AC/DC which create a girly look, perfect for a date night and especially good for this time of year! Just sweep Bordello across the lid and put AC/DC in the outer corner of the lid and into the crease. Super easy and super cute!

Maybelline Color Tattoo
Friday, 8 February 2013
There's been a fair bit of hype and love for the Maybelline Color Tattoo's and I'm just another person jumping on the band waggon. I've actually only got 1 shade (on and on bronze) which i bought a few months back, but it really is a great product and something you don't have to splash out on, kerching!
The color tattoos are a cream formula so go on smoothly and do act just like a tattoo, staying on all day keeping the same intensity and without creasing. When I'm in a rush i can just sweep this across my lids and be good to go with mascara, whilst still looking like Ive made an effort. Yet, they also can be used as a base/primer to make other eye shadows pop and last longer.
35 On and On bronze is a shimmery, metallic bronze that looks so beautiful when it catches the light as gold undertones shine through. The intensity can be built up to make a more dramatic look, and also (if you're quick) it can be blended out to create a smokey eye.

The usual retail price in the UK is £4.99 yet there's often offers or sales on in Boots and Superdrug, so you can pick it up even cheaper. For a fiver they are such a bargain and perfect for everyday and evening, what is not to love?

The Bright Scene
Tuesday, 5 February 2013
Over the past few months ive been another gal to fall for the trend of bold lips! At one point, all i would want to wear is something light and nude. In a way, i wanted to wear something bright like a red but i felt that it didn't suit me and i didn't have the confidence to wear it out in public, it was only something i tried in the privacy of my bedroom. But towards the end of 2012 and into 2013 i began to ditch the nude more and more and turned my attention towards bright and bold alternatives! I also feel, that wore in the right way, bright lips make me look a lot older which is something i love as i constantly get mistaken for being much younger than i am. I obviously don't wear bold lips every where i go (sometimes i wish i could), and do stick to muted shades for everyday wear such as sixth form. Right, enough of the rambling so i thought id share with you some of my favourite bold lipsticks, that may inspire you to go bright and buy one of these!
- Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish- 12
Like for so many people, the Kate Moss lipsticks have been a masisve hit for me and this one is no different. This is a bright coral with a red undertone to it. The pigmentation, along with the lasting power is excellent and i think this is perfect for spring/summer and it immediately brightens any outfit up!

- No.7 Moisture Drench Lipstick- 110 Dare Devil
I've had this lipstick for so long now and it was the first red i ever owned! It's what i would call a true red and when you think of a red lipstick this is what you think of. Once again, like all of the lipsticks this lasts ages and just creates the perfect red lip.

- Yves Rocher Moisturising Cream Lipstick- 106 Mauve
I received this in a glossybox a couple of months and although being slightly skeptical at first, i have completely fallen in love with it. Throughout December and Christmas i must have worn this so many times as i feel its perfect for winter. It's a hard colour to describe and im rubbish at describing colours so im hoping the swatches will do it justice but its a plummy, brown slightly vampish shade.

- Maybelline Color Sensational- 175 Pink Punch
Like the name suggests, this is a bright fuschia that really packs a punch! If you're brave enough, this reminds me of something you'd wear on a date, to really catch the attention! It's not as moisturising as some of the others but the pigmentation and lasting power makes up for that, bright lipsticks are often less moisturising to help them stay longer.

Empties
Friday, 1 February 2013
February is upon us! How fast has these past few months gone?! Time really does fly and with a new month comes another batch of finished products, some i will be repurchasing and some i won't.
-Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish
For me, this cleanser is a must have and i cant see myself drifting away from it any time soon. I just know how reliable it is and have just finished my 3rd bottle but don't worry, there was a new one in my Christmas stocking! It leaves my skin feeling so smooth and soft, whilst still looking radiant.
-Garnier Soothing Vitamin Enriched Toner
I don't know how much of a difference this has made to my face but its just a nice, gentle toner that removes any remaining impurities and is good when you want a refresh without being too harsh.
-Lacoste Touch Of Pink
This is the 3rd bottle of this fragrance i have used up and it is a great everyday scent that i know i can always rely on. However for once i won't be repurchasing, im fancying a change and this has got just a little repetitive.
-Lacoste Touch Of Pink Body Lotion
This obviously isn't going to be as rich and moisturising as your normal lotion, however when i want to smell extra great, ideally on a night out this is perfect! I already have another bottle of this from another Lacoste gift set i received at Christmas.
-Simple Kind To Skin Hydrating Light Moisturiser
Simple is a brand that you can never go wrong with and this face moisturiser hasn't let me down either. Like they promote, it really is just a simple, kind to skin product with nothing in that will break me out and i know it will always sort out any dry patches immediately, which is what i need in winter.
-Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer
Like most people in the 'beauty world' this is a must have product and im sure people are bored of people banging on about it all the time so im gonna keep it brief. It covers literally everything and even when i try other concealers i always come back to this! The only downside is that the writing always comes off the tube but that really doesn't bother me at all.
